Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman Senator Iyorchia Ayu said the party’s new National Working Committee (NWC) will be guided by consultation, teamwork, internal democracy and self-interest. national.

Senator Ayu said so in his speech at the inauguration of the NWC in Abuja on Friday, assuring that the new team would strengthen the party’s internal democratic processes.

“We will strive to reach all party members, young and old, men and women.

“This NWC will create alternative platforms within the party to actively engage youth and our women.

“They will be engaged, not only in mobilizing and winning elections, but also in advocacy, policy formulation and designing a new development program for the party.

“We will bring the party back to vigorous discussions; pay close attention to new thinking and implementation of policies and programs that will secure and improve the quality of life for all Nigerians,” Ayu said.

He said the Peoples Democratic Institute (PDI) would be revived and strengthened to lead the process.

The National Chairman said that before the next election cycle, the new NWC will present a PDP manifesto that will give hope to the people.

Ayu, who added that “the PDP is back to save and rebuild Nigeria,” urged Nigerians to keep their faith in a united Nigeria.

He expressed optimism that the party will return to power by 2023, saying a PDP administration would change the narrative and unite the people.

“We will deepen the content of our democracy. We will rebuild our collapsed economy. We will make Nigerians the center of development,” Ayu said.

He called on all non-PDP members to join the party, saying “our umbrella can accommodate us all”.

Ayu also urged all PDP members who left to return home; saying that the doors of the party were still open.

He appreciated all PDP members across Nigeria for their prayers, support and commitment to ensuring the emergence of the new NWC under his leadership.

The National President appreciated the outgoing NWC and other party leaders for ensuring a smooth national convention.

Highlights of the occasion include the presentation of the homecoming certificate to all new NOC members.

The outgoing National Secretary, Senator Ibrahim Tsauri also handed over the PDP registration certificate to the new National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu. (NOPE)
